i was really sad to go to Berkeley for undergrad, bc such a huge part of my high school all ended up there. but i didn't get into my higher choices, so was not excited at all going to college. but it turned out to be the perfect college for me, bc the school really taught a healthy skepticism of authority and believing that infrastructure and systems define you. i ended up at the other school for grad, and saw also how many of the undergrads there, tho privileged, also very narrow viewpoint and conformity to systems of the world. I was really thankful to know there were so many perspectives, truths even, outside of those constructs which let me see outside of very confined ideas how one's career, life, goals could be.

I once had a dilemma on whether I would join dance or choir in my church. I was part of my ballet class back then and I was semi-enjoying, until I saw my friends all going to choir. I felt soooo FOMO so I quit ballet and joined the choir. BUT THEN my other friends joined dance, and I am stuck in choir and I can't just leave. Almost 3 decades later, I am still in choir and enjoying it!
