There was this nail salon I went to for my birthday that totally blew me away. Not only did they hook me up with a free pedicure and the coolest nail design ever, but they threw in a 10% discount on my whole bill too! I wasn't expecting any of it, and it just made my day. Sadly, the place is closed right now, and I have no idea when they're opening back up😪

My partner and I went to Serai in Melbourne. It's not everyday that you encounter elevated filipino fusion food in a city outside of Manila and it had so many great reviews so we wanted to try it out. As expected, all the food served were scrumptious, our wine pairing was great, but the thing that stood out the most was the service.
Our server, Katie, was exceptional. Her hospitality was so good - she literally sat with us and listed out her personal recommendations of where to go around Melb while we were there, she even told us stories of how she met her filo boyfriend, and her warmth and service really made our dinner unforgettable. TBH, we couldv'e been friends that night LOL We still remember Katie up to this day!

One was actually a misunderstanding but the best kind. I went to a coffee shop in a more remote place in Vietnam...they do get tourist there but not as many since it an only be accessed via bus from either Da Nang or Hanoi. Anyhow, I went my local boyfriend and really loved the coffee..we stayed for a bit since we were escaping the rain.Four months later, I came back with 3 expat friends as I remembered it was probably the only specialty shop in the area. When I went to pay for the pay..the owner remembered me and comp-ed my coffee and meal. I was confused as it was just my portion, they said oh you're a tour guide right? When I mentioned I wasn't a tour guide and these are my friends..they still insisted on giving me the food and drinks free. It was so nice I had no choice but to fill out my pleased review not because they asked but because they were so kind!

i was really impressed by taiwan healthcare. i came in with a sprained knee. was given ticket, saw a snarky doctor who commented 'is skateboarding something girls should be doing', got sent to get an X-ray. when i came back he asked me if i wanted to drain my knee to alleviate the swelling. i said yes, then he brought a big needle and i said NO. He and the nurse held me down anyways and drained my knee, then sent me to a counter, picked up giant bag of meds. Whole process from walking into hospital to walking out was only 45 minutes, and cost $35 total on a foreign passport. i'm in awe.
